Watercolor and mixed media inspired by nature

Welcome to my website, I would love to work with you to create a painting of a favorite place, favorite flower, favorite memory or a favorite loved one in your life.

Kathy Marshall

The time is right!  After emergency open heart surgery, the closing of the cosmetology school where I was employed, letting my hair go gray, and COVID 19, I have decided to develop a lifelong passion for my artwork.  I have always been able to use my art abilities and interest in my cosmetology career of 25 years and my love of sewing and quilting. So the time is right!

I work in watercolor, watercolor pencils and pen. I am also venturing into mixed media.  Nature has always influenced my artwork, especially flowers.  I love to paint in the field, and strive to convey the wonder of what I see.

Keeping a sketch and painting journal while in the field is a joy wherever I go, especially  at  the Illinois State Horticultural center, or fishing with my husband and family.

I love gardening, quilting, and making costumes as well as sketching and painting.  Our son has introduced me to the magic and health benefits of fermented foods.  I have jars of fermented sauerkraut, pickles, keifer water and milk sitting on my kitchen counter!

A fun fact about myself is that I have no sense of direction! I have to count on my husband, kids, and grandkids to keep me on the right track!

I hope that my artwork will bring joy to your home and family.  I would love to  have you browse my website, I think you will find something to enjoy.

I live with my husband, Gary, in Pana, Illinois, and we are preparing to begin the next adventure of our lives!

Painting in plain air is one of my favorite ways to paint. I could paint endlessly at the horticultural center.

Painting at one of our favorite fishing spots, Evergreen Lake.
